the uniform

This has become my uniform for autumn – the outfit I turn to when I want to feel stylish without having to try too hard (and really, isn’t that always?). This is the fail-safe: a classic Breton tee, relaxed leather shorts and a structured jacket. I wear it with motorcycle boots if I’m roaming the city or one of my many platform wedge booties if I’m going somewhere fancier.

Jacket from Jeanswest, top from eBay, shorts by Lucette.

runic by sou brette

Sou Brette by Muqliza Imroni: statement jewellery rendered in geometric resin, thick cord and indelicate chains. The current collection, Runic, is inspired by tales of an apocalyptic future – narratives so destructive that colour has become a memory of the past. Tribal elements clash with cool geometry; shiny safety pins suspended in resin recall prehistoric insects caught in amber.

I’m taken by the Triple Puramis in white smoke – imagine it worn with a simple black dress that falls to the ground, covered leather wedges, nude lips, black eyes.

Sou Brette by Muqliza Imroni is available in Australia at Via Alley and Rowan Sable.

These came to me courtesy of the lovely people I intern with, a thank you gift for all my work during Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. It’s so nice to know when your efforts are appreciated.
