talon nyc

I’ve been mooning over Talon for some time now. Thanks to a competition run by the label on Twitter, I’m now the proud owner of a glass amulette.

The necklace is delicate and beautiful – perfect to be layered with other pieces of varying lengths – and the presentation is stunning. I’m especially fond of the piece of bark nestled in the gift-box – the juxtaposition of the smooth, clear glass with the natural textures of wood, muslin and dried grass.

one teaspoon

These pictures were taken at the one teaspoon store on Crown Street, Surry Hills – but they could have been taken in my bedroom. The space is a converted terrace house, fitted out with black furniture, metal skulls, curios worthy of a a kunstkammer and beautiful clothes.

Along with a host of other bloggers, I was invited to meet with designer Jamie Blakely and the one teaspoon retail staff and explore the current winter collection. Highlights: second-skin leather leggings, billowing silk kimonos and loose, distressed tees. I purchased a beautiful leather bustier, which you can expect to see on the blog sometime very soon.

Check out Sea of Ghosts and Shine by Three for more coverage of the night.
