MANIAMANIAC

Life is exhausting now. I have a new job – a career – but the sun rises and sets while I’m still in the office and I can feel the days trickling away from me like dust in the wind.

There is not much time for me to do anything other than work. (Even in my dreams I’m at the office, can you imagine?)

In the days or weeks (or is it months?) since I last blogged, I’ve managed to acquire two more pieces of ManiaMania – bringing the Immortals tally to a trio.

The purple stone is an amethyst; a limited edition piece co-designed by Abbey Lee Kershaw (you can order one here). If I were to design my own version, it would be a silver setting with a black stone – smoky quartz or obsidian or onyx. I couldn’t imagine anything more perfect.

(I won’t buy any more Immortals rings until a black-stoned version is released. Promise.)

Iris Van Herpen

Iris Van Herpen

Haute Couture week in Paris: beautiful, absurd, breath-taking. Pure fantasy.

Iris Van Herpen’s collection seemed to be inspired by the minutiae of nature: the antenna of a moth; droplets of water suspended mid-splash; vertebrae; the sinuous tentacles of a cephalopod.

Absolutely not over the amazingness of this Dion Lee Rorschach skirt. I’ve dressed it down here with a slouchy grey pullover and longline blazer.

Wearing: grey jumper by Funkis, Dion Lee skirt, Dion Lee: Cue blazer, Acne Pistol boots, Alexander McQueen double skull ring.

My first purchase from NET-A-PORTER: an Alexander McQueen double skull ring in silver. With little gemstone eyes.

I think we’re going to be very happy together.
