This is sort of like the uptown version of my last post. Leather leggings, those graceful, d’orsay heels, a longline coat, grey cashmere. Delicate jewellery because I needed a quiet kind of confidence.
I’ve been looking for a grey cashmere jumper since forever, and I finally got this one from Joseph. It’s like being wrapped in a cloud.
Wearing: shoes and leather leggings by Zara, cashmere jumper by Joseph, Lover coat, Alexander Wang Rocco bag, blessing necklace from Ginger and Smart, pearl rings by Mindans.

It’s finally cold enough to start layering in earnest. It’s all about texture – leather against soft knits, sharp suiting against sequins.
Today I wandered into Sportsgirl and picked up this sequin jacket. I don’t think I’ll wear it as the outer layer – I just want it to mix in with grungy, worn pieces or wear it almost hidden except for a glimmer at the sleeves or lapels.
Wearing: Zara leather leggings, Acne Pistol boots, Anhika tee, Lover scarf and coat and Sportsgirl sequin jacket.

Luxury begins where necessity ends, and reader, there is nothing necessary about this sublime, perfect Celine bag. Which is to say it is absolutely necessary and how did I ever live without it?
Wearing: leather dress by Zimmermann, Country Road stole, Mindans pearl rings and Celine trio bag.

Not my aesthetic, but sharp enough to catch my eye – Zimmermann’s “Clique Clique” collection played up the contrast of the label’s signature femininity with this season’s luxe sportswear vibe.
There were pastels, yes, and the florals that were ubiquitious in nearly every collection, but there was a play of shape and texture that went beyond the trend by numbers. And how can you dislike a collection that closes to the tune of Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart whilst showcasing a maxi dress that looked suspiciously like it had been splattered with blood?
And then there was the jewellery. A collaboration between Zimmermann and MANIAMANIA, it complemented the collection by being completely at odds with it. That Isis Aquarius five-ring hand-piece? Yes. I could.

What I wore on day one of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (please forgive me for not blogging during the actual event – I was there with my day job rather than my blog, so I couldn’t find the time to take a breath, far less write a post).
Being a dedicated wearer of black, I like to add a little bit of colour with my choice of accessories – in this case, a green/blue/cyan metallic clutch from Comme des Garcons, which tied in wonderfully with my Ellery lucite heels.
The clutch certainly garnered a lot of attention from fellow MBFWA attendees, and I was pretty thrilled when later in the week, Taylor Tomasi-Hill was snapped carrying the same one. I bought mine from Aloha Rag, a website which I can’t recommend highly enough.
