All black everything and the provocation of an inverted cross. I’ve fallen hard for Does Not Equal, a brand whose aesthetic so perfectly matches my own. I love the clean simplicity of this piece, and that the connotations it evokes are neither clean nor simple.

Wearing: Does Not Equal downward cross necklace (a gift from the designer), top by Imprint, jacket by Just Jeans, Chanel lipstick in Maniac.

photos by Lydia Hudgens

During my recent trip to San Francisco, I was lucky enough to hook up with the extremely talented Lydia Hudgens. Lydia kindly agreed to show me around the Mission and take a few snaps while we were at it. The Mission is all artisan ice-cream shops and hipsters; cheap Mexican food and independent boutiques – and easily one of my favourite areas in the city.

These photos were taken near Dolores Park, outside a building boasting an ornate metal gate. I love the way Lydia has captured the late afternoon light – there is a certain serenity to these photos that I adore.

I’m wearing: sunglasses by NastyGal, top by Imprint, leather jacket by Target, sass & bide Rats leggings, scarf from Glebe Market, Doc Marten Darcie boots.

An ankle-grazing cardigan should be de rigueur in every wardrobe, especially a cardigan with tiny, perfect details – holes to put your thumbs through; an oversized hood; deep pockets for hiding occult necessities.

Jacket by Just Jeans, cardigan by oneteaspoon, silk top by The Doll’s Boutique, sass & bide Rats, Sam Edelman Zoe boots.

It may not satisfy my sense of aesthetics as completely as wearing RGBSTEEL on my nails, but Rimmel London’s Grey Matter is pretty impressive. I think I’ll be wearing this shade a lot, especially come spring.

Rings (L – R): a gift; from the Chinatown Night Market in Sydney; by Wendy Nichol; from the Paddington Markets.
