I honestly couldn’t tell you if my love for this shoe is more about the wonderfully architectural shape (the cut-out heel! The hidden platform!) or the fact that it was designed by dream-girl Leigh Lezark.

This piece from ASOS takes me back to the early 2000s, when I had a penchant for wearing dog-collars (along with PVC pants, velvet platform boots and fishnet everything).
This time around, I’d style it with, say, a carelessly buttoned white shirt, or a very simple shift dress. Despite its minimalism, it’s a piece that demands attention – and therefore best worn with things that have a quiet, unstudied feel.
I’m not sure if I’m ready to revisit my teenage self so soon (has it really been 10 years?), so for now, I’ll admire it from afar.
