book of barb

Here is some VERY EXCITING news — I wrote a book. About Barbara Holland from Stranger Things. Called The Book of Barb: a Celebration of Stranger Things’ Iconic Wing Woman. And it’s coming out in August. Just look at the front cover!

I know August is a ways off yet, but here are some very exclusive details that I can reveal: this is a book for nerds. It’s a book for everyone who watched Stranger Things and recognised in Barb a version of themselves. Who has experienced the pain of being an outcast. Who knows, deep down, that they will never be thought of as cool, but also knows that there are more important things than caring what other people think. This book, my friends, is for you.

I’m a lifelong Barb, and I’m damn proud of it.

The Book of Barb is 96 pages of Stranger Things goodness, including but not limited to, advice from Barb about love, life and how to cope with high school; a quiz to determine which Stranger Things character you most resemble; a detailed guide to Barb’s outfit choices; a mix-tape of 80s tunes (which I will make into a Spotify playlist when the book comes out); and a heartfelt essay on why Barb is so important to me/the internet.

The illustrations are by Phil Constantinesco aka Faunesque (who certainly knows his way around a pink-to-blue gradient), and it’s being published by Smith Street Books. It’ll be out though Simon & Schuster in Australia, through Abrams & Chronicle Books in the UK, and through Rizzoli in the US and Canada.

The Book of Barb will be released into the world on August 1, 2017, but you can pre-order it right now by clicking here. (Thank you in advance to everyone who buys it; you are an extraordinary human being and I love you.)
